“I care about the climate and I vote.”

Voting in federal, state, and local elections can have an immediate and powerful impact on how we collectively address the climate crisis. You can help get more people out to vote in your community and region by joining with some of the following organizations [click on the blue type to access their websites]:

ROCK THE VOTE This organization supports voter registration and voter turnout of young people, who we desperately need to join in the efforts to elect politicians who understand the urgency of the climate emergency.

CARPOOL VOTE This non-profit connects volunteer drivers with  individuals who need rides to voting places around the country. You can volunteer too.

VOTER PARTICIPATION CENTER This organization provides online voter registration for states that allow it. It also provides a way to check that your own voter registration is current and valid.

VOTE 411 This organization also provides online registration and ways to check the validity of your own voter registration.

CLIMATE HAWKS VOTE  This organization seeks to identify, train, and elect individual climate leaders, while generating a political environment in which those leaders have the power to advance policies needed to address climate change.

In the face of a surge of actions across the county to attempt to make access to voting more difficult, it is critical to support voting rights at every opportunity. The following organizations are leading this fight and can use any help that you could provide [click on the blue type to access them]:

LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS The leading organization in the U.S. linking voting with climate issues. They push legislators on all aspects of environmental policy and for nearly 50 years have produced the National Environmental Scorecard on all members of the U.S. Congress.

ELECTION PROTECTION This organization provides information on all upcoming federal, state, and local elections and also recruits election monitors nationwide.

LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS A longtime advocate of voting rights. They are always in need of new members to carry on the fight protecting democracy.

VOTE CLIMATE US PAC This political action committee works to elect politicians to get the U.S. off of fossil fuels. They also provide a Climate Change Voters Guide/Scorecard to score Congress on their climate change actions. Also provided are a Pledge to Vote Climate petition.
